Unit Goals
Students will explore concepts of identity, perspectives in philosophy and ways of life.
Students will understand the Athenian democracy and it relationship to our own. Students will demonstrate how Ancient Greek culture and the roots of western culture are connected. Students will analyze the growth of Athens and Sparta and the Persian Wars. Students will contribute to discussions, both by listening and responding, using persuasive arguments based on textual evidence. Students will demonstrate understanding that “opinions” about literature are different from “arguments” based on textual evidence. |
